Join us in developing the future of elderly care in Umeå!
The elderly care in Umeå municipality aims to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction.
We are now looking for three coordinators (social workers) who want to work this summer!
As a coordinator focusing on housing placement, you will be a central link in the process of matching individual needs with the right place in special housing. You will collaborate with other team members to develop and implement digital solutions that support the entire chain from application and investigation to offer and move-in at special housing. You will contribute to creating clear and legally secure processes for housing placement, where digital tools are used to streamline information flow, follow up waiting lists, and facilitate communication between caseworkers, housing placers, and operations.
About us
The Unit for Digital Care and Support is currently responsible for the installation of digital solutions in homes and for supporting people in using digital technology. We already have IT technicians who work practically with installation, service, and support.
Our digitalization team consists of business developers, project managers, coordinators, and IT technicians. Together, we work both strategically and practically to create solutions that work in everyday life and existing processes. We believe in technology that creates real value for both citizens and employees and in collaboration as a key to success. We offer a workplace where collaboration, development, and legal security are at the center, along with continuous support and professional development.
Why choose us?
- You will be part of starting a new business area and driving a socially important mission in line with the rapid digital development.
- A flexible, learning, and developing work environment with a strong citizen focus.
- Great room for innovative thinking, collaboration across professional boundaries, and taking initiative.
Job responsibilities
As a coordinator for housing placement, you are responsible for ensuring that individuals with decisions about special housing receive the right support throughout the process, in close collaboration with caseworkers and other stakeholders. You keep yourself updated on waiting lists, offer housing based on individual needs, and have initial conversations with the individual and relatives to inform about the process and create security before moving.
The work also involves gathering supplementary information, documenting decisions, and following up on cases where someone declines the offered place. You contribute to developing and improving routines and digital tools for housing placement, always focusing on legal security and individual adaptation according to current legislation.
In addition, other tasks may also arise, such as collaborating in the digitalization team, mentoring colleagues, participating in development work, and contributing to creating innovative solutions for the future of elderly care.
Qualifications
- Degree in social work or equivalent higher education.
- Good knowledge of the Social Services Act, public access and confidentiality, and administrative law.
- Experience in case management and professional interaction with people in vulnerable situations.

- Ability to lead, collaborate, and drive change in an organization.
- Strong interest in digital development and innovation in care and support.
- Flexibility and ability to work both independently and in a team.
